ReddVid ("we", "us", "our") operates reddvid.com (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
ReddVid does not require registration or login. We do not collect, store or process:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- The Reddit URLs you submit for download
- The videos you download
- Payment information (the service is free)
3. How ReddVid Works
When you paste a Reddit URL, your browser makes a request to our API which fetches publicly available video metadata from Reddit's servers. The video and audio streams are then downloaded directly from Reddit's CDN (v.redd.it) to your browser and merged locally on your device using WebAssembly. No video content passes through our servers.
4. Automatically Collected Data
Like most web services, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic server access data including IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and service reliability. It is not sold or shared with third parties.
5. Cookies
ReddVid does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use minimal session storage in your browser to remember your language preference. No third-party cookies are set.
6. Third-Party Services
ReddVid uses a Cloudflare Worker proxy to fetch Reddit API data on behalf of your request. Cloudflare may log request metadata per their own privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising networks.
7. Children's Privacy
ReddVid is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
